My wife brought her car, and Terry originally said price it was going to be $350.00. One morning Terry rang my wife to let her know the job was done, and that final price was now 900.00! He never told us anything or gave us a call about this increase, so he literally assumed we were willing to spend 900.00. So, we showed up at his garage stating that if we would have known that final price it was going to be 900.00, we wouldn't have left the car in his garage. His new story it was the "pieces" were 350.00, but now including labour final price it was 900.00! Before starting the job he never informed us that price might increase (the minimum expected if the job it is going to be more expensive), giving us NO CHOICE of deciding if we wanted to proceed the car repairs, and ensuring himself the chance of ripping us off.On top of that, Terry told us that WE (the customers) had to GUESS that price might increase above 350.00 (the original price).As the arguing started while I was recording him on the phone, Terry dropped the price to 700.00 saying "I'll never fix f#@&g backpackers cars again". It was then when we clicked: Terry was trying to cheat on us assuming we were naive "working holiday" people because we have an accent and maybe because my wife's car it is a travelling van. We have been in Fremantle for almost 5 years! We both speak fluent English!The reason why I decided to post this it is because I have heard about the same situation SO MANY TIMES: the cheating and misleading from mechanics towards costumers, specially backpackers, tourists or women. If someone does not speak English as first language, the minimum expected from a mechanic it is been clear about prices, but not taking advantage of it.Maybe Terry does same thing to whoever is not Australian so be careful with this swindler.The case has been submitted to the WA consumer protection and I'll post the results as soon as I get their answer.

Terry does all my cars very nice guy and defiantly trust worthy... if you take in a death trap most likely he won't let you leave in it as that would be unethical.
