Very good services encourage people with the sermons and sharing of communion or a blessing. Faithful to the traditional style of the Anglican church, a good sense of balance, reliability and safety, and people are varied and friendly to talk with. The Church has several activities giving to the community, parish and congregation members. There are many volunteers and charities that it supports. The Church holds a special importance for annual services like Christmas Carols, Anzacs, and Remembrance Day. It has a rare Columbarium - check it out, but it also hosts stunning stained glass windows. It is worth visiting and relaxing for a service if you are new to the area or visiting. The Church grounds are open to the public with the use of lawns to play, or the shade of a tree. Have lunch or coffee from popular shops along the street.
Beautiful tranquil retreat from the frantic pace of modern life
During our New Zeeland and Brisbane Australia Tour we visited this remarkable church two weeks ago. Very interesting architecture surrounded by a beautiful garden. And highlite for us were the stained windows. A church more than worth visiting as 20th century monument and oasis of peace. Should be mentioned in all touristic guides!
No doubt one of my favourite neighbourhoods in Brisbane and Australia.
A place I have not attended however a very nice looking church from the outside with a large grassed area. My problem with this church is the ring of their Bell it can be heard a mile or so away, regrettably I'm a lot closer than that. They seem to ring the bell for no reason any time of day from 7.00am in the morning. It can toll up to twenty or more times for no apparent reason other than to wake up or disturb the local residence. I find it nothing but noise pollution and it should be regulated. So if you do happen to pop in and there's a minister or vicar there you may likes ask he or she why they have no regard for the local residence. Cheers Jack Kelly
