6 of us had the set menu and the food was amazing. Service was polite and helpful with suggestions but were let down in other areas like only 1 drinks menu for a table of 8 and the first 4 beers we ordered being unavailable, so was over half an hour before we even got drinks. Then had to review the bill 3 times due to being charged for all the beers they didn't have. Seemed to have plenty of skilled staff available, they just didn't seem to be on the same page.
I had very high expectations of this place, having heard a lot about it, but , as a seasoned traveller, some of the worst service Ive experienced. Not unfriendly at all - just in the style of Fawlty Towers. Our starters came - but no plates or cutlery. For 10 minutes. Despite asking twice. Then we had to ask for a few orders more than once. The waiter managed to spill water over me (no, I hadnt complained!).. and everything was just a little random. The seating was uncomfortable; very warm and dazzling in the evening sun. We were advised the blinds didnt come down, so sat sweltering for 45 minutes.And the food - well, it was ok. Probably good, but on balance with the service and the seating, it needed to be excellent and it wasnt. The lamb was delicious though but the other dishes - good but not great. Sorry Byblos - no return for us.
THE FOOD IS AMAZING! I am talking melt in your mouth, sell your first child, give up eating anything else amazing! The staff were wonderful, the food was spectacular and the atmosphere was great. Definitely going back.
Work Christmas Party - you know the ones you usually forget what the venue was like because, well, Christmas Party and company paid drinks :)Well - these guys managed to break through that. We had a booked room off the main part, and the team were attentive, friendly and the food was fantastic. Would recommend to all!
Excellent food, truly a fantastic experience. The service is great too which never hurts. I had the banquet for four people and it was exactly the right amount of food, along with a great wine selection. I highly recommend taking the time to enjoy it, this is not an experience to be rushed, you want to sit and be full and digest.
