The Monk is my local. I live in Hamilton but even if I didn't, I'd go out of my way to come to the place. The couch is my favorite spot. I am a bit bummed about some of the menu changes, but the food is still good. I love the selection of beers and whiskey and the staff are always wonderful.
Great pub, good selection of beers, massive range of spirits. Pizza tasty. Inside a bit dark for old eyes (maybe that is why the monk is blind), outside seating the place to be.
I'm up here for work and got recommended by my boss and work colleagues to come here for dinner and glad I did. Ambiance is good, staff are very friendly and nice, I had the sesame crumbed chicken burger for dinner and was amazing. I love espresso martinis and The fireball & nutella espresso martini here is to die for! Will be back when I'm up here for work again.
Truly enjoyed a wonderful get together with friends here. Food was really good and quick to the table. The atmosphere was quite conducive to conversation and with the tables well populated you didn't feel crowded or in need of talking loud to have your friends and guests join in.Their range of whisky and Scotches are excellent and they take pride in a great experience.
